Sunidhi Chauhan is an Indian playback singer. Mostly, She is well-known for her songs in Hindi. Also, She has sung a few numbers for Oriya, Punjabi, Marathi, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Bengali, Assamese and Nepali films. Initially, She got recognition through the music show ‘Meri Aawaz Suno’. She got into the career of playback singing with the film,’Shastra’ in Hindi released in 1996.  She was born on 14th Aug, 1983 in New Delhi. By origin, Sunidhi belongs to Rajput family.

Family – Parents / Sibling

Her father, Mr.Dushyant kumar Chauhan from Uttar pradesh works at Shriram Bharatiya kala kendra as a theater personality. Her mother,being a house wife, she did all her best to inspire Chauhan to pursue singing career. And, she used to motivate her all the time to build up confidence. Sunidhi has a younger sister. Her name is Suneha chauhan.

Her parents encouraged  Sunidhi very much right from her young age. As soon as her family moved to Mumbai, Chauhan began trying for singing opportunities. After getting success, she remembers that it was only her parents who laid a strong foundation to her play back singing career.

School and College

 Sunidhi had her schooling at Green Way modern school in Delhi. Because of strong desire in music, she had to drop out from schooling. However, she was not worried about it because she strongly made up her mind to see herself as a star singer in film industry.

At the age of singing rhymes at school, Sunidhi Chauhan started singing.The famous TV anchor Tabassum was present when she was performing a song in a local Temple in Delhi. And he was so impressed and offered a chance to sing in her show Tabassum Hit Parade. Subsequently,she got an offer from Kalyanji’s ‘Little Wonders’ troupe. Then, she happened to sing the “Windows Vista Song” in the launch of Windows Vista in India.

In April 2010, Chauhan was one of the judges among Anu Malik and Salim Merchant on the fifth season of the most popular singing talent show Indian Idol 5. On January 2015, she performed a live concert at Chennai. And she acted as a judge in the  singing reality show on T.V the’Voice India’.

When Sunidhi was 18,she married director and choreographer Bobby Khan. But it was a secret affair.Later, because of some misunderstanding, they had to seperate. Quite after a few months, Chauhan became a better-half to her childhood friend and music composer Hitesh Sonik on April 27, 2012.
