 Biographical fims:

    A.N.R had  played a few successful biographical films such as Vipra Narayana,Tenali Rama Krishna,Mahakavi Kalidasu,Bhaktha Jayadeva Amarashilpi Jakkanna, Bhaktha Tukaram and Sri Rama dasu. The movies performed well at the box office.

   Vipranarayana:

       The film released in 1954 and  Akkineni Nageswara Rao  played a Brahmin role who is a flower garland maker. He is strong devotee of Lord Perumal. A woman tempts him to  break his trust in God. Akkineni showcased his excellent acting skills in the movie. The movie starred ANR,Bhanumathi,Relangi and Rushyendra Mani. This movie is cosidered to be one of the best movies in ANR’s acting career.

 Tenali Ramakrishna:

The film Starred ANR ,NTR and Jamuna and B.S Ranga was the director. It was made from the origin of the stage play Tenali Raman written by C.K.Venkata Ramaiah. The film Revolves round the lives of  Telugu poet Tenali Rama and Vijaya nagar king Krishna Devaraya. ANR portrayed the character of Tenali Rama in the film. The audience really enjoyed his  witty dialogues  through out the movie. Nageswara Rao’s performance was excellent,  Mostly, certain situations where the character cleverly  dealt with the critical issues. The movie released in 1956 and it was a super hit at the box office.

 

Mahakavi Kalidasu:

     The movie featured Akkineni Nageswara Rao, S.V .RangaRao,Sri Ranjani and Relangi Venkata Ramaiah. It was  directed by Kamalakara Kameswara Rao and released in 1960. Pingali Nagendra Rao composed the music.

     NageswaraRao played the role of Kalidas who was a great devotee of goddess Maha Lakshmi. In one of the scenes, Kalidas prays to goddess to give him knowledge  where Akkineni Showcased his extraordinary performance. Over all, the movie stood as one of ANR’s best films released in 1960.

 

Amarasilpi Jakkanna:

      The movie starred ANR, B.Saroja,Relangi,Pushpavalli. B.S.Ranga directed the movie and it released in 1963. S.P.Kodandapani gave music to the film. the film is considered to be one of the best ones in ANR’s career. His acting skills were simply superb.

Bhaktha Jayadeva:

    The movie ‘Bhaktha Jayadeva’  released in 1961. The starring was Akkineni Nageswararao,Anjali Devi and Relangi Venkatramiah. P.Rama Rao directed the film and Saluri Rajeswara Rao gave the music.

The film revolves around the life of Sanskrit poet Jayadeva. It was a musical movie and a super hit at that time. ANR gave an excellent performance in the movie. Jayadeva’s Asthapadis reached the hearts of people through this film.

Bhaktha Tukaram:

The movie hit the theaters on 5th july 1973. V.Madhu SudanaRao directed the movie and P.Adinarayana Rao gave the background score with melodious songs.. It starred Akkineni Nageswara Rao,Anjali Devi and Shivaji Ganeshan.

      The film featured ANR as a saint poet. The entire story revolves around the life of the poet Tukaram. And Nageswara Rao did the utmost justice to his role. While singing the kirtans, his facial expressions were superb. Being a devotee of lord Pandu Ranga, Tukaram had to undergo lot of hurdles. ANR’s acting skills were ultimate while acting such pathetic scenes.

Sri Rama Dasu:

       This movie is ANR’s the last devotional and biographic film. NageswaraRao enacted the role of Kabir Das in this film. Known for his dedicated acting, all appreciated for his excellent performance. the movie starred ANR, Akkineni Nagarjuna,Suman and Sneha. Raghavendra Rao directed the movie and it released in 2006. M.M Keeravani scored the film with 19 heart touching songs.
