Initially, Shruti began her cine career as a child artist. In the movie’Hey Ram’, she sang and played a guest role. Her father acted in a lead role in that movie. Although her debut Hindi movie ‘Luck’ was a disaster, the Telugu debut fantasy film ‘Anaganaga O Dheerudu’ released in 2011,Oh My Friend released in 2011 gave her confidence to settle in film industry. Subsequently,she acted in Tamil debut ‘7 aum Arivu’ released in 2011.Later, she appeared in several successful films like Gabbar Singh (2012), Race Gurram (2014), Vedalam (2015) and Srimanthudu (2015).

The above films helped her a lot to prove herself as a successful leading actress in Tamil and Telugu cinema. In a poll, conducted by the Chennai Times,Shruti Haasan stood in top position as most desirable woman. In addition to Telugu and Tamil, Shruti Hasan was starred in a few successful Hindi films such as Ramaiya Vastavaiya (2013) and Gabbar Is Back (2015).
